Chilmark Planning Board Subcommittee Meeting
May 28, 2015

Meeting called to order at 9:17 AM:
- Review of Discussion of Residential Building Size bylaw amendment with ZBA on May 27, 2015:
- Ms. Malkin distributed a draft of the biennial report of the bylaw, revised after the discussion with the ZBA. It was noted that the subcommittee members will be returning to the ZBA on June 24 to present a revised report.
- The ZBA communicated that the bylaw amendment appears to be working.
- Mr. Greenbaum stated that one criteria, #11, should be reviewed and possibly revised.
- Ms. Malkin stated the energy criteria, #10, and the water criteria, #9, were questioned. A ZBA member wanted to know if #9 would allow the Board to require an applicant to require a composting toilet. Ms. Malkin stated that she did not think a composting toilet could be required.
- The subcommittee members noted the support of the Building Inspector for the bylaw amendment at the ZBA meeting on May 27.
- The subcommittee members proceeded to review the revised draft of the Biennial Review report and made changes.
- Ms. Malkin made note of the changes and agreed to produce a draft to distribute to the ZBA members prior to the June 24 meeting. No amendments to the bylaws were recommended.
- The subcommittee discussed the topic of requesting property owners to attend hearings.
